Spring Prescribed Fire Program for the Boise National Forest Completed

With the exception of some slash pile burning, the spring Prescribed Fire Program for the Boise National Forest has been completed.  Check back with us in September for the start of the fall program.

Prescribed Burning on May 3 and 4

Weather and Conditions permitting  On Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4, the Lowman Ranger District plans on the ignition of two burns: The Sams Pine Prescribed Burn located approximately 10 air miles northwest of Lowman along the Deadwood River.  This burn will be an aerial ignition of approximately 1200 acres. No Fires Planned for this Week

Week of April 22

Weather and conditions permitting, the Idaho City Ranger District plans to ignite 200-300 acres in  Alder Ridge with hand ignition, 1 mile north of Placerville. Also, the Cascade Ranger District may ignite hand piles near French Creek Campground, late in the week, depending on weather.

No Fires Planned for Week of April 15

For the week of April 15, there are no prescribed fires planned for the Boise National Forest.

Cascade Ranger District Planned Burn Near Yellow Pine

For the week of April 8, weather and conditions permitting, the Cascade Ranger District will be burning 3 acres of slash piles near Yellow Pine.
