Boise National Forest Prescribed Burns for Week of April 1
Prescribed Burns Planned Within the Boise National Forest During the Week of April 1.
Weather and conditions permitting, the Boise NF is planning to ignite the following prescribed burns during the week of April 1.
April 3, 2013
The Emmett Ranger District plans to ignite 1573 acres in Rocky Canyon with an aerial ignition. The burn is approximately 10 miles north of Crouch, Idaho. It is west of the Middle Fork Payette River and off of FS road 698, just north of Tie Creek Drainage.
The Idaho City Ranger District plans to ignite 150 acres in Amber Ridge with hand ignition, tree-well burning. The burn is approximately 1 mile north of Placerville, and 3 miles east of Idaho City.
The Lowman Ranger District plans to ignite 60 acres in Pine Flats near the Pine Flats Campground. This burn is a hand ignition and located approximately 7 miles west of Lowman, Idaho.
April 4, 2013
The Lowman Ranger District plans to ignite 1500 acres in Sam’s Pine with an aerial ignition. The burn is approximately 10 air miles northwest of Lowman, Idaho along the Deadwood River.
The Cascade Range District plans to ignite 6 acres of piles in Golden Antimony with hand ignition. The burn is located approximately ½ mile south of Yellow Pine, Idaho.
There will be aerial and ground patrols monitoring the burn areas during the upcoming weekend. Forest visitors may notice smoke from these burns for a few days following ignition, particularly in the evening hours.
