Boise National Forest Plans to Ignite Three Prescribed Burns April 10

On Tuesday, April 10 the Boise National Forest plans to ignite three prescribed burns:

  1.  The Mountain Home RD, plans to black-line approximately 100 acres of the perimeter of Whiskey Campo Johnson using hand ignition.  The area is 1 mile west of Featherville.
  2. The Idaho City RD plans to hand ignite 300 acres in Mores South-Granite Creek –  4 miles east of Idaho City.
  3. The Emmett RD plans to ignite 1100 acres in Poorman – 3 miles NE of Garden Valley with an aerial ignition.

Smoke may be visible late Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday morning.  Ignitions are planned for only one day.  Firefighters will be monitoring the burn sites for several days following the ignitions.
