Boise National Forest Plans to Ignite Prescribed Burns

Weather and conditions permitting:

  • Friday, April 20, the Idaho City RD plans to hand ignite 290 acres in Granite Creek, located approximately 4 miles east of Idaho City.
  • Sunday, April 22,  the Emmett RD plans to helicopter ignite 2300 acres in Rocky Canyon, approximately 10 miles north of Crouch and west of the Middle Fork Payette River.
  • Monday, April 23,  the Lowman RD plans to helicopter ignite 1500 acres in Sam’s Pine, 10 air miles northwest of Lowman along the Deadwood River.
  • Tuesday, April 24, the Mountain Home RD plans to helicopter ignite 1200 acres, approximately 1 mile west of Featherville.
